Selena Gomez just made a major purchase this spring: a gorgeous new mansion in Los Angeles once owned by legendary singer Tom Petty. The singer/actress paid $4.9 million for the Encino property that was custom built for Petty and his wife Jane Benyo in 1989. The property is over 11,000 square feet and has six bedrooms and 10 bathrooms, according to E!. Splashy features include an in-home recording studio, a gym, massage room, wine cellar, and a gorgeous pool outside, as can be seen in photos of the property provided by realtor.com.
Gomez hasn’t moved in or decorated the home yet, but she has an airy, luxe space to work with. Gomez instead has been quarantining in her Studio City property that she listed for $2.799 million.
During an IG Live, she spoke about how she hasn’t left the house. “I’ve been in lockdown,” she said. “I have not really left—well, I have left my house just to see my sister. I hope that you guys are taking this seriously. To me, I can’t wrap my head around people not taking lives that serious. It’s not to say it’s to be hurtful toward anyone else. It’s just, it’s really hard to see ’cause I have grandparents and they’re with me. I have a six-year-old sister who can’t be in school right now so I haven’t been on this too much just for the sake of praying for you guys and honestly figuring it out for myself, trying to read and not go crazy.”
